Use e-mail responsibly and learn e-mail manners.
Don't forward attachments from any source, friend or anonymous (viruses!).
Send weekly e-mail "newsletter" to everyone in the congregation.
Subject line: Creative title (e.g. "Tom's Tablet," "Cyberline") and date (helps members track most recent message).
Personalize for visitors who provide e-mail addresses. Leave option of removing themselves from e-mail list.
Include links to PDF versions of weekly and monthly newsletters posted to website (do not attach them).
Keep short and light. Highlight events, fellowship activities, Bible studies and long-range items.
Include last minute prayer concerns.
End with humor (OPTIONAL).
Spell check and proof (IMPORTANT!).
Save to "DRAFT" folder.
Send once per week on designated day (Friday best).
Send other times only in emergency situations or death/funeral notification.
TO SEND:
Open "DRAFT" folder.
Place your address in "TO" box.
Insert folders with stored congregation e-mail addresses from your "LISTS" or "GROUP" file in the "BCC" box (prevents unauthorized access to your church's e-mail list, e.g. spam).
