Podcast: combination of two words: "iPod" and "broadcast"
Podcast: an audio and/or video file you create in mp3 format and uploaded to a server (your website).
The host or author of a podcast is referred to as a "podcaster."

Alternative 2: Windows XP: Go to Start, then All Programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Sound Recorder. Use ITunes to convert audio file to mp3.
